Naturalmente, la fonte originaria documenti non sono stati in inglese. Molti (oltre 5.000) sono in greco. Altri (oltre 10.000) sono latino della Vulgata copie della Bibbia (circa 400 dC). Un numero minore si trovano in una varietà di altre lingue.
Il greco documenti sono particolarmente importanti, in parte perché questa era la lingua originale del Nuovo Testamento, i manoscritti, per cui vi è stato minimo la possibilità di errori di traduzione dalla lingua allora.
