Installing A JUCA Model L-8 Fireplace Insert

Two strong people set the L-8 in front of the fireplace,

and slide it in.

At about 2" from the wall, a little unfaced fibreglas building insulation is placed where the JUCA overlaps the fireplace facing.

Now, slide it the rest of the way in.

Plug the grounded power cord into a grounded outlet.

THAT'S IT!

Since the JUCA Insert has an open bottom, you can still use the original fireplace's ash dump, outside combustion air or gas log lighter.

Since the JUCA Insert has a relatively open top, the smoke path and the operation of the fireplace will be very similar to how it worked before installing the JUCA.

SINCE THE JUCA USES ALL OF THE EXISTING FIREPLACE AND CHIMNEY, IT IS IMPORTANT TO CONFIRM THAT BOTH THE FIREBOX AND CHIMNEY WOULD BE SAFE TO USE WITHOUT THE JUCA.

A JUCA Insert is NOT intended for a fireplace/chimney which had previously failed or is structurally faulty.
