ClearView Fireplace Appearance
The clearview fireplace door set has become the absolute standard
of the industry. The term "clear-view" refers to
the fact that each piece of glass
has no metal frame (or virtually none) surrounding it. When the doors
are closed, the view of the fire is relatively unobstructed, hence
the name. Many years ago, only the "traditional"style was
available. After manufacturers figured out how to make "clear-view"
style, that variety became far more popular.
Some Clear-View styles involve minimal metal areas at the top and bottom
of the door panels. Others are entirely frameless. Some manufacturers
have other variations, but there is never any center-post metal areas.
